Team Gaffa Machinima Tool

Machinima Tool: Demo management

The creation of the Jump Around! film called for a new tool to handle all the various Batterecorder demos that were recorded and used. Since we could not find exactly what we needed, we created our own.

Basically the tool is an advanced GUI for Battlerecorder with the following main features:

  • Allows easy access to demos from all mods, including Special Forces
  • Let's you start Battlerecorder in various modes without using the command line
  • Handle multiple camera paths for the same demo, and add comments Machinima Tool: Batch rendering
  • Batch rendering of demos! When you have created the camera paths you want, you can let the tool render a queue of demos to AVI files without having to render each one manually
  • Automatic codec-selection. When rendering, the program can be set to automatically select codec, so that zero user intervention is needed (works with Vista)
  • Optional rendering of HUD and name tags
  • Audio rendering (requires external program to record the output)
  • Multiple settings profiles can be maintained, allowing the use of different settings for different tasks or projects

Download

Since we had great use of the tool ourselves, we provide it here for free download to anyone who may benefit from using it. The only requirements are the .NET framework and a valid Battlefield 2 installation. Click the screenshots to see a larger version.
